A development which would really boost the D8 GTO road handling performance, due to a lower unsprung mass (over 50% less weight), would be the use of carbon ceramic brakes.
Several suppliers have them available. The only negative downside (next to the whopping price level of more than 16K + from several brands for a full kit ex mounting) is the limited public road use performance in braking, due to the fact that carbon ceramic brakes require more heat for optimal performance. Certainly for track day use, it would be a worthwhile upgrade for the GTO. Let’s see what the future factory developments will bring us in this perspective.
