A bit of interesting Donkervoort history from 1986 and fairy unique images.
The Donkervoort used for the crashtest was Joop’s own private S8A car and demo. This was the purple demo which was used for an article in the Dutch Magazine Autovisie. For crash purposes the engine has been swapped and several other minor changes have been done. Impossible today.
A specific test for the US market has been cancelled. This test involves a crash where the car has to be hit from behind by a concrete block. The main reason for cancelation was that the fuel tanks have been sliced by the frame. This was modified in later versions.
