- Creamy soap and a dispenser
- A high pressure Karcher cleaner or equivalent
- 2 buckets (one for the used wash mitt’s)
- A water hose
- Electricity
- 5 microfiber wash mitts
- 3 large microfiber cleaning towels to dry your Donkervoort
Fill a bucket with hand warm water and add car wash soap in the quantity directed on its bottle.
Use the same soap in the same mixture to fill up the 5 or 10 liter pressure dispenser.
Fully spray your car with the water and soap mixture. Let it soak for about 5 minutes.
Wash off your car to loosen and further soften the dirt, using a high pressure cleaner.
Be careful not to harm your paint.
Don’t use a strong jet, as this can rub grit over the paint and scratch it. Try to aim the jet downwards on all surfaces.
Soak a clean and fresh large microfiber wash mitt (never ever a regular sponge!) in the soapy water and begin applying it to the car section by section.
1 wash mitt for the nose cone and engine cover, 1 new and separate wash mitt for the back end of the car and 1 fresh wash mitt per side panel of the car.
NEVER soak a single time used wash mitt in the soap bucket again, use it a single time to prevent dirt coming in your soap water bucket.
This is the trick to prevent washing swirls.
Rinse the dirt out of every wash mitt in the bucket with plain water and do not re-use it on the car again.
You first need to wash it in the washing machine again for next washing event. Let it air dry after it has been in the washing machine. Skip the fabric softener. Do not use the dryer.
As you progress, keep the entire car wet, as this will prevent droplets from drying on the paint and leaving water-spots.
You want to be able to dry the car with towels before it air-dries. Use a separate wash mitt for cleaning the openings of the wheels.
Clean the tire sidewalls with a wash mitt.
Dry the vehicle with fresh and large micro fiber towels 122 x 66 cm. They absorb massive amounts of water and potential remaining dirt. Use about 3 fresh dry towels for the full car. Never use a chamois to dry your Donkervoort.
